Data controller and purposes

Press Hotkeys handles order and license data to fulfil purchases, deliver license keys, manage installation slots, provide support and meet applicable payment and accounting obligations. Enquiries about personal data can be sent to support@presshotkeys.com.

The Mac application

Press Hotkeys has no telemetry: the app does not collect or send usage statistics or automatic error reports.

Press Hotkeys recognises the keyboard events needed for enabled shortcuts and performs the actions configured on the Mac. Keyboard-event processing, shortcut settings and application compatibility settings stay on that Mac. The app stores its license key, installation ID and signed activation in the macOS Keychain.

For activation or release of a slot, the app sends the license key and installation ID to the license server over HTTPS. A signed activation lets the app check the saved license locally during later offline use. The local diagnostic log helps investigate errors; support receives it when the user chooses to share it.

Purchase and license records

The website collects the order email and interface language. The license service stores the order amount and currency, payment status and identifiers, creation and payment dates, license details and active installation IDs. International orders also record the displayed USD reference price and exchange-rate quote used to fix the ruble amount.

The browser keeps the current order ID in session storage and a protected order-access cookie. Together they let the original checkout tab retrieve the payment status and license key. The site also saves the selected visual theme in local storage.

Payment and service providers

The payment provider receives the information needed to process the order and issue its payment receipt, including the order email and amount. Card details are entered on the payment provider’s page. The seller’s license service receives payment confirmations and transaction identifiers. The payment provider describes its processing in its own privacy documents.

To serve pages, the server processes the visitor’s IP address and technical HTTP request information. The server determines the visitor’s country from an IP database to select the regional website and price and display payment-method guidance. The license service and email service process order data to deliver the key and support the purchase.

Storage and protection

The order and license records support the license for its period of use. Payment and accounting information is kept for the periods required by applicable law. Technical logs and backup copies support service operation and recovery. Records are corrected or removed when their purpose and legal retention requirements end.

HTTPS protects data in transit. Order-access cookies are restricted to the order service, and installation activation is cryptographically signed. Access to stored order records is limited to the service and operators handling support and administration.

Access, correction and enquiries

Contact support@presshotkeys.com with the order email and a description of your request to ask about access to, correction of or deletion of your personal data, or the processing of an order. Identity verification may use the order information. The request is considered together with the requirements for fulfilling the license and retaining payment records.

Country data source

The website uses DB-IP Country Lite for country lookup, distributed under CC BY 4.0. Database releases are available from the source page.
